Thanks Glen. I will try my selection again using my original drawing. I wasn't using the extraction functionality the first go around but used the default option of selecting everything in the current view (which contained two layers containing points....MSPOINT and my Tree layer). It appeared that ...

Just found the Filter by Z functionality. I guess this could be used in the future to extract only the points whose elevations are to be used for the generation of the contours. It would be handy to have the points available from different layers though. I think in the case for this client, the poin...

Drawing Contours from Point Data

Just attempting to draw some contours on a topographical survey for a client. It appears that the only points that are exported to the surface are those that were left on the default layer (MSPOINT), even when selecting all visible by pressing enter. Is this correct? If ground points were moved to a...

Thanks for the response guys. It sounds like the break command is what I'm looking for. I should have thought of that.

...I'll give it a shot.

Thanks again.

Trimming Lines That Run Through Text

Anyone know if there is a quick way to trim lines that run through text? ACAD allows you to pick text as a trim object but it appears MSCAD requires a line etc...

Thanks Glen. That is likely it. I believe I hit one of the buttons earlier in the day for the point numbers...must of hit the one for descriptions as well but didn't realize it. Most of the points in my subdivision are calc'd points and thus do not have descriptions associated with them. I wi...

Thanks Glen. I assumed there was only one default as that would naturally make sense. I wasn't sure if I was missing something. It appears that my descriptions and points numbers generated by the batch file scale up and down when zooming in and out within the drawing whereas the point numbers create...

COGO Text Scaling

I have run into a snag in a drawing where the size of the text that is generated when automatically labeling lines drawn from a COGO batch file and auto-adding points to objects are being drawn at different sizes. What drives the label text height using a COGO batch file? What drives the label text ...

MSCAD 2002 Demo conversion

The freezing issue when trying to rotate objects is not just linked to rotating text. I've attempted to rotate a line and the freezing issue is replicated. I've tried both using the "rotate object button" and the rotate command from the file menu. Both produce the freezing problem. ....just tried an...

MSCAD 2002 Demo conversion

The re-install process did not rectify the freezing problem either. Not sure if files are left behind when completing the remove option? I've also tried re-installing the service packs (3 & 4) to see if this would rectify the issue...didn't. The CD we received is the build with SP4 included. Any oth...

MSCAD 2002 Demo conversion

Thanks for the info Glen.

Simply running step one to get rid of the evaluation version but did not rectify the freezing issue discussed previously. I will complete a clean install later this morning.

MSCAD 2002 Demo conversion

A quick question. Our office recently purchased 2 licenses for MSCAD2002. On one of the machines we converted from the demo install while the other was installed fresh. The program on the machine with the demo converion install crashes when trying to rotate text using the "Rotate selected objects" b...

AutoMap and Layering Attributes

Our office is in the process of transitioning from two pieces of software (AutoCAD and CCSurv) to MS-CAD 2002. Under our old system, COGO functionality was completed using CCSurv. This software was also used to manually move points to specific layers. (i.e. move point number 93 to boundary layer). W...
