Re: Flatten command

Adding a bit more to my post yesterday. To 'fix' the profile 'going in the wrong direction; When you drape the original line, MSCAD asks 'Delete the original (2D) line?' I say 'No', and I keep it on a working layer in case I need it again for the very reason of the problem you've encountered. Then, ...

Re: Flatten command

Flatten draws the profile in the direction the line was drawn. Try it on a line drawn on a 90 degree bearing, and then on a line drawn on a 270 degree bearing, and you'll see what I mean. To reverse the direction of a line you have already drawn, use MsModeling>Utilities>Polyline Utilities>Swap ends...

Re: ActiveSync 4.5 and Windows XP SP3

Hi I use ActiveSync 4.5.0 (Build 5096) with WIN XP Pro SP3 and it works fine for me. I have FG2007 in a '2nd generation' Tracker data collector, yellow case, Backspace key in lower right corner, with 9 pin serial port. MSCAD 2010 Premium SP2 V10.3.0.4 with it's current transfer program, Intel 3.0 GH...

Re: Field Genius - Slope Staking @ % Grade

I also STRONGLY again request this percentage grade slope staking feature per Richard's request in his paragraph 3. It is common survey task. Richard has asked for this before, years ago now - I 'seconded it' then, & do so again now! This feature would be extremely useful to me also, & thus I would ...

Re: Allegro mx freezes

Hi Jason So the Disconnect/Connect AFTER powering back up, that works on the Tracker, doesn't work on the MX? Only if you Disconnect BEFORE powering down on the MX? I had encountered the same problem as GBS (in sideshots) when I first got my Tracker & FG2005 almost 5 years ago, and it took a while, ...

Re: Allegro mx freezes

When it freezes after the suspend or sleep mode, tap the instument Settings button in upper right corner of main FG screen, which brings up the Instrument Settings Toolbar. In lower left of that toolbar, tap the "Disconnect Instrument" button, which then changes to "Connect to Instrument". Tap on it...

Yes, thanks Glen for that tip about the .dbf file! I have also wished MANY times for this timestamp information about the survey shots. I knew I could see it in the Coordinate Database for each shot in the FG project file while it was still in my Tracker, but did not know how to find or print this i...

USB Key problem

Hi John, Thank you for your post. However, Licence Manager brings up only Licence Key Maintenance, which doesn't help though - I already have the key activated. With the program running, go to HELP/Licence Options & click on MiroSurvey Licencing Options underlined in green near the top, which brings...

USB Key problem

Hi. How do I bring up the MS licencing Options dialog once after the program has been started in Demo mode? I took my computer in yesterday for repair with the MSCAD 2008 USB key in the USB port. The tech unplugged the key while doing some system testing, unrelated to MSCAD. When I picked up the com...

Vertical Curves

Is there any way yet to draw a simple vertical curve (parabolic curve) in MSCADD 2005, (or with an add-in routine of some sort?) in simple profile design?
Without getting into AutoRoute?
If not, hope to see it in MSCAD 2008!
Thx

~Tilde sign (indicating approximately) on exteme upper left on std. keyboard has never worked for me in MSCAD2005 SP1.3. It instead displays a degree symbol small circle on drawing screen. I suspect it is not in MSURVEY.shx?? Could it be added, or is there away to use it? I recall it worked ok in Au...

FLATTEN Command(s) - Improve in MSCAD2008?

1) FLATTEN (on IntelliCAD Modify toolbar) does not work on a MS curvey leader if it has some elevation. My ELEVATION is set to zero. 2) A minor point about the name; The FLATTEN command name is used twice in MSCAD – the one noted above & the MS Modeling (Quicksurf) FLATTEN command. I know the Quicks...

Curve labelling - Improve for MSCAD 2008

I also request the ability to modify or rearrange the listing format. This would be very useful to suit our or a client's different preferences. Yes, we can do it manually, but it is tedious to do many, & as a design changes! Other suggestions for improvement to Label Curves – off curve. -Label in s...

Ability to Trim & Extend Dimensions lines- Suggest>MS

In old AutoCAD 12 DOS with InCAD 12, we could simply trim or extend a dimension line to a line (same as doing with a simple line), and the dimension text would update accordingly. This was very handy & I used it frequently for editing dims as a design evolved. I realize this was a AutoCAD command, n...

ISOLATE/UNISOLATE- Improve for MSCAD2008

Not really a bug, but an improvement here in 2008 would help. This is a very handy tool I use a lot. However if I accidently ISOLATE a second time before UNISOLATE-ing, I'm stuck. No ability to "step back" twice. UNDO doesn't help. I know it is my goof-up, but can be big hassle to reset all layers i...

Bug - Unnamed Blocks - fix in 2008?

I post here for others comments. Don't need fixed in MSCAD2005. For 2008 For some reason basically all my drawings, whether built from scratch, old ACAD, or from others, all slowly generate hundreds & eventually thousands of unnamed blocks as I work, i.e. *U52, ....*U4028.... etc. Sometimes the seri...

Bugs - Dimensioning - fix in MSCAD2008?

I post this here for others comments too. Don't need fixed in old 2005. For 2008. 1) Occasionally Dimension text style changes to STANDARD. I notice this after opening a dwg previously worked on. If I pick on the dimension to bring up Change Properties, click on Dimensions box, then click OK, it rev...

I did find that "Text to Columns" in Excel would separate the data of my original attempts, if comma delimited, but yet more steps to a long way around.
