Re: FieldGenius version 9.1

This is probably resolved by letting you know that you can explicitly add the .txt extension when you create the file. I know that with some older versions there were issues with an incorrect extension being added but this is fixed with the current version. But rest assured that regardless of the fi...

Re: WGS84 vs NAD83 (GRS80) ellipsoids and working coordinate system.

Sorry its so quiet...but sometimes the loyalists check in. The architecture of FieldGenius requires that you assign some kind of a map projection before you can store points with GPS. That's because all the other coordinate utilities are built to work with plane trigonometry and they would probably ...

Re: Leica Geo Office Baselines to STAR*NET

This is just a related note. Leica has just added export of SKI ASCII to their newer Infinity software. Some STAR*NET customers have been holding on to their LGO and will be pleased to learn about this. Please see the article below: http://helpdesk.microsurvey.com/index.php?/Knowledgebase/Article/Vi...

Re: Comment lines omitted from Input listing in LST file

This has been identified as an issue in version 8.2. It will be fixed in a future release. Sorry for the trouble, but for now we'll need to ask you to quote from the original .dat file to fill that requirement.

Re: what is the best way to scale a survey from meters to mm

The best tool for converting mm to Meters or inches to feet is the Rescale Drawing Wizard. This is a common requirement when you are exchanging drawings with architects. Look in the MSTools Ribbon, Wizards Group, Rescale Drawing Wizard or _DWG_RESCALE in the command line. This function will: 1. prom...

Re: SDRmap a subset of points

SDR linework is restricted to the whole drawing at once. Some options I could suggest: 1. Import the whole project into an empty drawing, run SDR linework and then "Transfer points between MicroSurvey Projects" to bring the points and lines into the existing drawing. 2. Or if the crew is interested ...

Re: Captivate and Automapping

We have seen this issue. it's not a problem with Captivate, but a problem that was introduced when some new attributes were added to the AutoMap feature. See this article for a description of the solution: http://helpdesk.microsurvey.com/index.php?/Knowledgebase/Article/View/1367/0/how-to-fix-error-...

Re: Traverse Editor Print

That sounds like something support should take a look at. If you still have this issue can you submit a sample drawing and a support ticket? We'll probably need to know what program you are using as a "virtual" pdf printer. Most of us in the MicroSurvey support Department have started using Foxit.pd...

Re: importing points

The command may have changed. In the Points ribbon, Import/Export Group you can select the extended options and select Softdesk/LDD or type _import_sdsk in the command line. This will only read point blocks, we can't work with proxy entities. See this article for more information about point blocks,...

In this case the .raw file contains all the information you need to process the traverse. There are a few articles on this format below: All specifications: http://helpdesk.microsurvey.com/index.php?/Knowledgebase/Article/View/156/0/raw-data-file-format---tds-rw5-specs More information on GPS record...

Hi,

There is no easy answer with MicroSurvey CAD 2016, but 2017 has a revised mtext editor with built in symbols. See the preview image below:

Re: Script Help (minor tweaks)

I want to make sure you know you can inquire the scale factor in a lisp routine. See this article: http://www.microsurvey.com/helpdesk2/index.php?/Knowledgebase/Article/View/63/0/microsurvey-cad-lisp-programming _fastarea gives you most of what you need, except I suspect you're finding the scale is ...

Re: Editing RTK localization

Hi Kari, It does sound like the system is working as intended, although it's not perfect as your example shows. The key here is understanding how the raw file works: Any point that you calculate using the cogo routines will be recorded in the raw file as a simple "SP" record. It's just a fixed coord...

Printer Driver

Hello Booker, I remember this issue from a year ago when people were trying out MSCAD 2008. It may be related to the printer driver. If you haven't already, try setting the printer to another one in the office or install a pdf creator, there is an article in Helpdesk. This can help you determine if ...
