Smart point blocks

Hi Went to use this new feature the other day, but I had already moved some of the elevations and descriptions. So when I turned on the smart points it undid all that I had already done. :( . Can this feature be made smarter? In that it only turns those points into smart points that you have not alr...

what is the best way to scale a survey from meters to mm?

Hi Just done a 1300+ survey which I'm going to over lay on to existing cad drawing from the architect with 8 layouts. It's easier if I can upload my Field project as I have some line work, with the points already changed or do it in MSCAD. Basically I just need to delete the decimal point, I could d...

Survey Traverse Report

Hi
When using the Survey Traverse Report routine and all the adjustment. What does it do? Does it adjust all the sideshots as well? Does this eliminate the need to do it in MSCAD?

"Traverse has no setups......"

Hi Did a survey in the week from two new stations after I did a set up and backsight from two known ones. NOT closed back so it is an open traverse. After Re-Coordinating the traverse, and then drawing the traverse line work. When I go in the the Compute traverse Closure and then select open travers...

Drawing update

Hi What is the best way of update the drawing, ie DXF lines, but keeping all the points and my measured points. I've got new drawing from architect & engineer which shows a new layout for my pile caps and RC beams. So I need to update the linework but keep my points. Any help would be grateful. Than...

Revision Cloud

Hi

Does any know how to create a revision Cloud in MSCAD? It's in AutoCAD and thus in inCAD, but NOT in MSCAD! Is this a standard line that can be imported?

Thanks

Volume issues

Working out a volume for a stock pile. Did just as the video. Use one code for the base parameter and then another to survey the pile. I use codes STN for my set up, Bottom of bank for parameter, and Level over the pile. When finished I checked the box so that STN and Level would not be part of the ...

How do the survey a wall and show contour line?

Does anyone have any ideas have I could survey a RC wall, and then as an elevation show contours to a to a datum so that I have a +15mm line and then a -10 line? To show how bad the wall is. And also then to work a volume to then render it plumb. And it's very bad! I have FieldGenius, so I did know ...

Thanks for your answer. Yes it's a small computer running W7 and not a PDA running WM6.5 so hence WMDC does not start when plug in. I thought I was going mad or that my USB cable was dead.

Thanks again

Transferring data onto a Algiz 7

Hi Just got Field Genius and put it onto my Algiz 7 (it's actually a Leica CS25 which is an Algiz 7 just with a long range bluetooth). What is the best way for transferring data to and from it and my laptop? As Windows Mobile Device Center does not initiate and then neither does MicroSurvey Transfer...

Sheet/Layout color display

Hi I know that you can change the color of the screen in Layout, like white for paper. But whenever I put my sheet/title block in, as it bigger than the one already in the layout it only has the grey background. Sometime when I've finished on the drawing and printed it, it only then has the white ba...

Re: Problem with DRAPE command!!

Hi, There was I couple of issues I think. One is that after I had sent all the files to the support team, they were not getting the same problem because they were on the new bata version, whaich has now been released. So make sure you have that. I think the other issue might have been selecting the ...

SURVEYING MAN HOLES/ROAD COVERS

Hi, Has anyone out there got a good & quick way of surveying Man holes/ road covers, WITHOUT surveying all four corners? I know that in AutoMAP you can insert a symbol and have it scaled & rotated to previous point. Although the centre of the symbol go onto the point instead of a corner,( if you whe...

Re: solidedit

Hi. Thanks for the info. Most of the stuff out doesn't really like the polyface mesh as it thinks that its a polygon mesh and says that its open and can not turn it into a solid. But I did find this at the Autodesk support web site very helpful and easy to use. 1)Have your Surface style display Tria...

Hi Brian,

Thanks very much for the reply. inCAD looks good. So the big question now is, which I should have put on the inCAD forum is. HOW can I turn a TIN into a solid? Tried all the solid and surface commands nothing works.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Problem with DRAPE command!!

Hi, I've been trying to drape a 3D polyline on to a surface. But it breaks up into small 3D Polyline with lots of big gaps, so it doesn't remain one continuous. Also tried doing the same with a 2D Polyline but having the same results. Any thoughts Please, bit stuck now as I'm trying to do a volume e...
