flx to dwg

I agree with the comments of rhwatman and vincent popish. I will add that I think it is ludicrous to suggest that all users of MS need to convert literally 1000's of files to the new standard in order to have the few that need to be converted. I don't think that you have thought through just how muc...

saveas feature- no log file

gdrichard Your quote "It requires more than just a save, I always hit save several times and that does the trick, so it does work. " I guess I'll need a further explanation of how you are successful in getting "ms" to copy the log file when using the saveas feature. I tried your suggestion after usi...

Comparisons of 2005 to 2008

2007/12/14 Comparisons of 2005 to 2008 This is a list of changes and/or improvements ( in no particular order) that I have found in 2008 when comparing it to 2005. 1: In 2005 the print mode Cancel button has been changed to "Close". My experience suggests that this routine no longer crashes although...

traverse entry problems

2007/12/02 I downloaded the 30day trail version of 2008 at home so that I could try out the program for evaluation purposes. I believe that I found a "bug" in the traverse entry routine (unless you can provide an answer to my problem) to enter the command line entry of traverse input : mstraverse/tr...

2007/11/28 As a followup to comments I have made on previous occasions related to the ddunits command and the last one of kevinnem I would suggest that our experience has shown that the ddunits command in mscad 2005 and 2002 does not work properly. Something happened between 2001 and 2002 with that ...

trimming lines (before 2008?)

Originally I sent in these comments where requests were made for comments ala 2008. Although this subject was dealt with in that section I agree with the MS staff that it wasn't really in the right location so I am re-inserting my comments to relate to the older versions of MSCAD. Others may find ou...

hiding lines

I should have stated that our solution works for older versions of 2001,2002, mscad2005. The earlier versions didn't have the draw order command but you could still make the process work by inserting the monuments after all the other lines were in the drawing. 2005 doesn't have the wipeout command s...

trimming lines

For what its worth at our office we eliminated the need to trim lines where survey posts have been inserted. We utilized the color 255 (non printing) to modify the survey blocks of MS that had a transparent area in the block. We replaced the MS blocks with ours and now our blocks are inserted instea...

preferred changes to 2008

I am suggesting 2 changes 1: I would dearly love to see the zoom extents command removed from depressing the scroll wheel and ,in deemed necessary to be accessed from the mouse, some other means of triggering the zoom extents command. I find that you need a feather touch on the scroll wheel to preve...

other bugs fixed in 2008??

I experience numerous crashes when an autosave is interjected in the middle of some routines. My take on it is that when the auto save interrupts some routine in progress the program is not returned properly to where it was at the instant it was interrupted thus making it impossible to continue. It ...

2007/07/30 Glad to see that you are adding this issue to your request list. However as a user I would like to see a stronger word than "request " to describe the action your programmers may take. It may well be that your reference to request means that it will be done but it also could mean that som...

"save as" problem" ??

In using the "save as" feature to save an existing file to a new name I have discovered that there are two files that are not saved from the original file to the new name. Its possible that there is a reason for doing so but I believe that the absence of these two files causes a loss of some informa...

polyline mshelp instructions

2007/07/16 In trying to resolve the issue of extending a polyline I have uncovered another problem in going to your help section. 2007/07/13 Whatman provided the answer as to why I couldn't forward a sample as when I went back into the drawing that was crashing it didn't crash because it had been saved. polyine arc crashes

I discovered a crash scenario that is reproducible so I want to pass it on for elimination if that has not already been done. reason for database error

2007/06/07 I found out myself why this problem rears its ugly head. If you are in COGO mode when you click on the window to access the other drawing(s) then MS remains in the 1st drawing as far as the database is concerned although it swithes to the 2nd drawing thus you get the inverse from the 1st ...
