FLX to DWG

Glen: You didn't respond to the suggestion of you guys having a conversion utility on your website that would convert flx files to dwg files. You used to have the best support in the industry, bar none. But it appears to me that the attitude at Microsurvey is changing a little. I sure perferred the ...

flx files

Just thought I would put in 2 cents worth. Many of our drawings have been archived, may never need them again, or I could need one today. There is no way to know. It would take many hours (days) to go through and load them back on to a computer, convert them, and re-archive them. I believe it is red...

Hi:
There is a free utility lisp at Daves cogo to accomplish that. Just download it and load it in mscad2005 then run it.
Go to http://www.cogosoftware.com/ and look under free utilities.

What type of printer are you printing to? For some printers you have to use monochrome, or change the actual plotter setting to print in black and ignore the colors.

Hi: You could try to go under the Modeling menu, export data, surface data, write ascii, breaks. Then open the resulting file in a spreadsheet and make the changes you need by using find and replace and inserting point numbers. I have had to do the reverse before, convert breaks that were not in the...

Hi: I noticed that if I type end in the middle of a line or circle command and then miss the end of a line that I am starting from in my selection, that mscad doesn't warn me that I missed the line. If you do the same in autocad or bricscad it doesn't start the line and gives you a warning that no e...

Other programs are much more powerful in this area. The rest of the program and interface and especially your support are way way ahead of your compe...

cut fill

Hi:
Some of the TDS programs, depending I believe on what you are running it on, need to have a toggle in stake out mode set to generate or save cut/fill sheet. Otherwise, it just saves the shot in the raw file and not enough info for cut/fill sheet.

Total Station

We use robotic total stations, the best we have is an older Geodimeter 600 series. It has been a great gun. We also have a newer trimble 600, like it a lot but not quite as good as the geodimeter. We had a lieca 1100 series, hated it, not any good for traking or angles, finally agreed to loose $10,0...

If you have a valley or a ridge on the contours and just use the contour lines to generate the surface, it will give you the wrong volume answer. The reason is that the program will triangulate accross the ridge or valley and ignore the valley or ridge when it is ib a concave shape. One needs to add...
