Re: MicroSurvey inCAD 2012

So.... just to clear things up, I am not asking how to import coordinates into my up-to-date version of Microsurvey that I operate in a 64 bit environment. Really, I guess, at the risk of being a pain in the neck, I am wondering when this particular cogo software (Microsurvey inCAD 2012) will be abl...

MicroSurvey inCAD 2012

Hi, Thanks for the notice about the inCAD update! One question though: I am not yet able to import Field Genius coordinates using InCAD. This is the error message I get: fg_import_coord Function disabled in 64 bit build It isn't a huge big deal - I've gotten used to using my old Starnet program to e...

Re: InCAD - current versions?

I should add the words "mostly" to my statement above that I have InCAD that works for Autodesk Civil3D 2011....one thing that doesn't work is importing in field genious-collected field data. Ooops. :-) I currently use a get-around of opening up field genius desktop and exporting from that and then ...

InCAD - current versions?

My InCAD maintenance contract is up for renewal. I have InCAD that works for Autodesk's 2011 version, have Autodesk's 2012 sitting collecting dust on my bookshelf and know that Autodesk's 2013 version is due out in less than six months. I feel like a bit of a broken record (or a scratched DVD) What ...

Re: InCAD 2011?

So...I am taking my Civil 3D 2012 out of its package ready to install on a shiny new computer with 64 bit operating that should actually be able to run it decently.
The question arises: can the current version of Microsurvey InCAD work with it?
I guess I will just try it and find out. :-)

Re: InCAD 2011?

Thanks for the answer, Jason.
That is what I needed to know for my maintenance contract decision.

I wonder...I think that the acad 2012 comes out relatively early in 2011. My DVDs for it arrived in March or April ;-))))

Re: InCAD 2011?

Silence.... Perhaps I should rephrase the question? Q: Can you please tell me what MicroSurvey’s plans are for their InCAD software? Are the plans to gently let the InCAD software slip and hope that folks switch to using the stand-alone MS CAD package? Or are the plans to keep the InCAD flag flying?...

InCAD 2011?

I've had my maintenance contract Civil 3D 2011 sitting in its box on my desk since April. I've held off installing it because my MicroSurvey InCAD, so far as I know, won't work with it. But now, as always, my clients are using 2011 and I need it on my computer in order to open their drawings properl...

Re: Resection with FG2010

Is there a way of easily and quickly changing the prism constant during resection? Currently the only way we know of seems to involve about ten steps....and renders resection an annoyance.

prism constants during rounds of angles

Hi, We are using Leica 1103 with a 360 prism for our foresights and an ordinary prism for our backsights. This means we have two different prism constants: one for the foresights and one for the backsights. Field Genius theoretically deals with this by allowing the user to enter different FS and BS ...

Mark,

I have seen the same thing happen with automap symbols for years with InCAD. Unfortunately, I am so used to it, that I don't question it anymore. If you rescale the entire drawing at same scale, you can usually get all the symbols regenerated.

TDS CR5 binary files

Are we still unable to import (binary) CR5 files unless we are downloading directly from a datacollector? I am getting topo files emailed to me and my importing of CR5 files failed. Good thing for RW5 or we'd be having problems... Now is there a more efficient way to get TDS Recon data into InCAD? I...

Hi Chris, Have not had the problems you are describing. If the data collector is communicating with the instrument, it usually is just a matter of pressing the little binoculars symbol to initiate a powersearch. The distance thing - I guess that you have several places to set units: on the instrumen...

We are trying FG with a Leica 1103 - we are happy with how it operates with the FG software. They are a good and functional combination. A few minor glitches in the software but those will apparently be fixed in next FG version. For modem and radio, we are trying out an Allegro with built-in radio R...

re prism offsets

No, it would not suffice: the prism offsets can change during the survey - ie changing between 360 degree prism for sideshots and a normal prism for backsite checks.

Just as a comment in Raw data file and of course history logg every time it changes would be great...

prism offsets

Hi, Are prism constants that were used in data collection stored anywhere in the FG files? I would very much like to check on what constant was used for some data collected. Have checked the raw file and the log file but don't see it. If this information is not stored anywhere, it is an item that I ...

I was just reading Scott's August post about GPS-> ground coordinates. His suggestion makes a lot of sense. I have always wondered why our Leica controllers don't do this. I did not notice a MicroSurvey response to the suggestion.... ? So - I would LOVE to see our GPS module simply use a given lat,l...

toolbars, aliases and automap library - what files?

I am setting up a demo of InCAD on one of the computers in our office (it currently has Express on it.) I have set up toolbars, aliases, automap library etc that I like very much on my personal computer and want to have the exact same setup on this other computer. What files/folders should I nab fro...

By the way... if one should decide to change something else in the template information, one has got to re-enter all of the sig figs for the side slopes again - otherwise they are rounded off to as they appear when you save.

Thanks Glen, ok, as per our conversation a few minutes ago - the cross-sections do indeed use all the sig figs entered, even though the reloaded template file rounds off the slope information. So things are not so bad... Here is a wish-item: that displays of stored template data show all the sig fig...
