Contour highlight colors

I have recently returned to MSCAD after being away for a couple of years. I am creating some contours on a smallish parcel, some thing I used to do reqularily with out any problems at all. However now when I attempt it I am not getting any highlight colors. I think I am setting things up correctly a...

Speed of MS2008

I recently moved to a newer faster computer (Intel Core Duo@2Ghz & 3.5 Gb of ram) It is pretty peppy. Also inherited MS2008 on this machine which I have not used before. One of the first MS jobs I did on this unit was a small volume calc with about 80 points in it. Is it just me or is MS2008 serious...

Hi all. I apoligize for not posting this earlier. I just noticed this post had been moved up to near the top of the list again so someone must be interested. I did find a quick and easy way to do what I wanted, Lat & long output in decimal degrees. It was a simple variable that changed output from D...

Command Aliases, Keyboard shortcuts

Again I have recently moved from MS2002 to MS2005. In 2002 you could create aliases for just about any MS command that you wanted. In 2005 it seems to restrict you to only commands that are in the list. I can use a keyboard shortcut but you are restricted in how many you can create and to what keys ...

toolbars moving when i close

This is probably a simple fix, variable or something, but I've done a little searching in the forum and in help and can't find answer. Have recently moved into an office with MS2005. I was familiar with MS2002. Anyways, I move some toolbars where I want them, close microsurvey, then open it again an...

Output of Lat&Long coordinates in Decimal Degrees

I need to convert grid utm coordinates to Lat&Long coordinates, which I can do. Am I able to have the output in Decimal Degrees?

I remember now why I posted my question on this topic before. In our office we are quite often doing calcs using GPS data that is collected at UTM grid. When we do our calcs we can apply the scale factor correction so that we can do our calculations at ground yet we we are creating UTM grid coords. ...

Hi All, Glen, it seems to me I posted a question quit similar to this quite a while ago (a couple of years?). It seems to me that this little function would come in quite handy to anyone in the survey business who works in bearing or azimuths rather than deflections or angles. It sure would be nice ...

Glen, Thanx for the reply. I have finally had a chance to work through your instructions and it worked. Fortunately we have a copy of the NTV2_0.gsb file that is used by another software package so scrounging that file wasn’t a problem. Once I actually read all the way through instructions so that I...

Coordinate Transformation

I seem to be having the same problem as Pinobar from May4/06. I am trying to transform some coords from NAD27 Zone 12 to NAD83 Zone 12. I import the NAD27 coords and when I do the transform I get a statement "Error performing coordinate conversion" and all the points are shifted to N0.0, E0.0. What'...

alias commands and pgp files

Concerning the alias commands setup in the config command in MS2002. I was also disappointed that MS2005 had lost such a quick and easy way of setting up shortcuts to MS commands. I had the shortcut "cc" set up to run the "cogo" command as well as a few others that don't show up in the available com...

Thanks Glen for the speedy reply.

I rotated my reference line to North, shifted my starting point to 0,0, followed your instructions and presto, just what I wanted.

Grid Orientation

I have a client that has asked me to create a plan that shows a grid with spot elevs at all the intersections. (ie a 5m grid). When I create the 5m grid from an existing surface and show it onscreen it seems as if the location of the grid is created at random. Is there any way to create my grid with...
