Model Space and Layout Space are two separate spaces. Each is at its own scale. Text in both is sized according to the scale set for that space. Unfortunately, I know of no way to set the scale in Model Space and then set another scale in Layout Space. You'll need to reset the scale as needed. This ...

Warning Will Rogers, Danger. Danger.

First, if you are working in a drawing unsing state plane coordinates. understand whether you are to use US Survey Feet or Internatioal Survey Feet. It will make a big difference, but only if working in State Planbe Coordinates.

You haven't really explained your situation well, yet. Are you doing this in the field or the office? What software/equipment are you using? What is the required accuracy of the larger shape? Is the ground covered in 20' panic brush or is it just knee-high ground cover? Is this a theoretical questio...

Tom: If you remember from class, the options are there to create the target layer with the particular characteristics if the layer is not already in the drawing. The idea is that is a short cut to creating layes, setting the colors ans then populating the layers with the automap items. Cheers, Tom! ...

If you are using a base and rover on a site that is properly established and calibrated and the rod heights are all correct, this cannot happen. If the coordinates are identical and in the same file, using the same calibration on the same site, they cannot possibly staking out six feet apart. There ...
