LCD Monitor Display

Well, I'm pleased to know there's another old fart out there. Just invested in new lenses, myself, which helped immensely. Yup, we have stores, c/w with sales people; they're 60 Km away, which makes it a tad less easy to shop and compare. Following your previous advice, as well as Chris and Richard'...

LCD Monitor Display

Just curious as to how the small the icons are with 1600 x 1200 resolution?
Having more screen area would be a real plus but, with my aging eyes, discerning the icons could be a challenge.

Thanks,

Nettech

LCD Monitor Display

GDay from UpOver, Richard, I was offered a "deal" on a 24" Samsung unit and though, as per Chris L.'s reply, that it might provide more area for toolbars. But given the fact that I could buy an anvil, with performance issues, I thought it best to pose my question in the User Forum for a definitive r...

My 19" CRT monitor has died; must replace it immediately. Am currently running 2004, but will be upgrading to 2005 very soon. Have been unable to get a straight answer from several of the major computer stores to this question: Will MS-CAD display properly on a wide-screen monitor with resolution of...

Hatch Pattern Generator

Hi Glen, Thanks, again. I'll go have a peruse and see what I can turn up. Most of my searches, through Google and G.Groups, have turned up hatch gen. apps, that will only work with you-know-who's programme. Have also sent you a separate reply direct to "info". Will post anything that looks promising...

Hatch Pattern Generator

Hi Glen, Thanks for your reply. Perhaps my question wasn't phrased correctly. I'm aware of the H.P. dialogue and its functions. What I'm looking for, is a an add-on, or stand alone programme, that will allow me to generate or create "new" pattern files. Most of those available, out of literally hund...

Hatch Pattern Generator

Does anyone know of a hatch generator, stand alone or one that will integrate with 2004? I'd really like to modify or customize, or even generate, some hatch patterns. I've tried several that are available from various online sources, but all are tied to Autodesk's behemoth and won't function with M...

Thanks, Richard, Sounds reasonable that Illustrator can do this. I'll check Adobe's site to see whether they have a demo available. Have just tried several different flavours of software this morning, without much success. I discovered that several of the drawings were created from scanned images, r...

Forgive me, Darcy, but I have to ask why it was necessary in the first place to utilize a service South of the 49th? About the only strong winds we get in B.C. come from Victoria, generated from the Legislature. I trust that you're just repentance will militate against further romances with the Helm...

Possible Conflicts: MS-CAD2005 with 2004?

I've just received an MS-CAD2005 Demo CD, but before I install it, I'd like to know whether it will conflict, in any way, with my existing MS-CAD2004 installation. I was considering installing the Demo on a HD partition, but think that the registry may be affected if I do. And, when the Demo expires...

PDF File Conversion

Thanks, Glen,

I'll have a look at it.
You know, I spent better than 2 hours on Google with the search term,
"PDF to Vector" and never thought to try "Raster to Vector".
Guess that's why they pay you guys the big bucks, huh?

I'll post results.

Thanks, RAMG,

I'll give it a shot and post results.

PDF File Conversion

Have just received several hundred PDF files of civil engineering as-constructed drawings. These were created from various editions of AutoCAD over a period of several years. Does anyone know of an application that can convert these PDF back into drawing file (vector) format? I've searched several o...
