Can't select items in my drawing?

I've gone into the drawing yet again, (after receiving your e-mail saying that you could select and move everthing), and, lo and behold, the drawing is "behaving" normally again. I didn't change any settings. I just opened the drawing that I sent to you. Like I did several times this morning, only w...

Can't select items in my drawing?

None of the layers are locked. I don't think we've ever locked our layers.

Can't select items in my drawing?

I've gone into an Autocad drawing and tried to select linework and Microsurvey says it's not there, . . .?? I can draw a line, or a circle, and do it by snapping to the endpoint of the line that isn't there !!!?? I can't edit, erase, move or select any of the lines or text in the drawing. I exited t...

MSCad hanging up, sort of

It seems like when I select dynamic zoom or dynamic pan while I'm using cogo I get a weird kind of program hang up. The program seems to stay frozen in the pan mode, even though I can see commands being either typed in or selected off of the menu. For example, I try to close my drawing and I see "_c...

Need to get my work back

Ok, I found it. I had actually used the search function of Explorer to look for a file with the sv$ extension and it said it couldn't find anything. It turns out that there's 2 Ted folders under C:\documents... One is on the "C" drive and the other one appears to be on the server, although it's foun...

Need to get my work back

I've had this happen a few times now where MSCad crashes and I lose my drawing efforts. I've set the Autosave to 10 minutes so I don't lose too much. Apparently the saved drawing has an extension of .sv$. My question is, where is it?? I'm working on a network. My drawings are saved in a unique folde...

Raw data file into Autodesk Field Survey

Thanks Brian. It worked when we changed the extension with some modifications. We have to key in the coordinate for point number 1, for some reason the program won't read it in. The traverse HAS to be made in consecutive order, which never happens. And the program won't process the raw data if a tra...

Raw data file into Autodesk Field Survey

Autodesk Field Survey (version 1, by Carlson Software) has options for importing a variety of raw data formats but the manual says the TDS "rw5" format is the "native" raw file version that it works with. Right now the Fieldgenius creates a ".raw" format. Is there a way to convert from rw5 to raw? S...

Selection is acting up

I've read some of the forum comments that describe similar problems to what I'm having happen. I try to move a block that I inserted and it always jumps back to its original location. I'm also having trouble with the selection command. I try to select using window or crossing and when I pick a start...

Tracker NOT weatherproof??

As I said earlier, Darcy, our collectors are only exposed to brief periods of rain. The guys put away all of their electronic equipment when it rains. I'm not talking about any version of weather that even approaches what might be experienced in some of the regions throughout Canada. Light rain. A s...

Tracker NOT weatherproof??

Here are the serial numbers for my Trackers; HH256074 2704 & HH268176 4504 Please advise me whether or not these are the "weatherproof" version. If they are, then that's great. If they're not, please provide me with a price to "upgrade" both of them to the "weatherproof" version. As far as I'm conce...

Tracker NOT weatherproof??

Although your response leads me to think, yet again, that Microsurvey believes that the Tracker IS weatherproof, there are other people at Microsurvey that seem to be of the opinion that they're not. Let me quote what Shannon Taylor wrote to me and then let me know whether or not you too get the imp...

Tracker NOT weatherproof??

When I was originally considering buying a Tracker Darcy (or someone at Microsurvey) described to me how they had put the Tracker in a freezer overnight to test it for it's ability to withstand cold temperatures. I was led to believe before I bought these data collectors that they had been carefully...

Tracker on strike

I spoke to someone yesterday morning about some trouble we’re having with our Tracker. They were going to have a tech guy e-mail or phone us about the issues we’re having. Haven’t heard anything yet from anyone. Our Tracker is currently un-usable. Problems: - battery – won’t last all day - open job ...

Disappearance

The text, objects remain invisible after a regen. This is happening in any drawing that I open and perform editing commands on. I used the selection then escape command to make the objects visible and then I printed the drawing into a pdf. The "visible" objects, which I could see before AND after pr...

Disappearing act somehow connected to viewing functions

Ok, so I click on the invisible items, they "re-appear" as greyed items with a grip handle on them, I hit the <esc> key, and they re-appear, looking normal. Then I pan, they disappear. Ok, I zoom extents instead of panning. Oh, look, they disappear again. This oddity seems to have something to do wi...

The lost is found

This just keeps getting better. If I select the area of the drawing containing the disappearing item (of course I have to know where this is, and if I can't see it, . . .) then I see a greyed selected item with a grip !!! I then hit <esc> to exit the selection and the invisible object re-appears !!!...

Magical disappearing act

I repeated this a few times to see exactly what's happening. After I select one or two items, they show on the screen as having been selected. Then when I hit the enter key to complete the command they disappear. So far, so good. Then I selected the pan command to move across the drawing. Other item...

deleting in MSCad 2005

When I delete items (text, objects, lines, etc) in a drawing I'm finding items that I haven't selected are being deleted !!!? I hit enter to complete the command and items that clearly were NOT selected disappear from the drawing. This isn't my first time using cad. Any idea what the hell is going on?

Fix text when opening Autocad drawings

I've looked at the movies provided and I can't find out how to have MSCad 2005 use the proper fonts when I open an existing Autocad drawing. It substitutes text style fonts for a lot of my leroy fonts and it looks kind of *****y. Can you tell me how I can set this up properly?

Thanks,

Autodesk Field Survey point blocks

The folly continues. I now have the Service Pack 4 installed, einfo will tell me the block name and the attributes, but the Ldd import routine doesn't seem to be creating the information, even though it says "1498 selected". The screen does a little flicker when I hit the enter key, but I can't inve...

Autodesk Field Survey point blocks

Well, that seems to be where I'm having a bit of a problem. I've always tried to get information on these blocks and when I use the einfo command the response I always get is "2 selected". Period. My einfo command has never been able to tell me anything about these blocks. The program tells me it's ...

That's great, Glen. But I have a dumb question.

Can you tell me how you figured out what the block name and all the attribute names were?

Thanks, Glen. This is going to significantly improve my drawing use and management abilities.

Awesome.

Glenn,

Ok, I did that, it said 1498 selected, then when I hit the enter key the program just seemed to end. None of the points seem to have been created. Am I missing a step?
