Template drawing

Glen, Since MSCAD 3.1 I've been using a default drawing that saves the labeling defaults, scale etc. I think if you go to MSTOOLS-->Microsurvey System Defaults-->Save as default configuration this works. If I'm wrong, please don't tell me!It's worked for almost ten years and I'm getting to old to chan...

Richard,
We use San Disk CF cards.Haven't had any trouble until this.
I've been using their CF & SD cards in my PDA & camera at home for a few years now with no trouble,so I'm inclined to think this isn't the problem but thanks for the input.

Louis,
Thanks for the tip.I'll give it a try although luckily the job was the last one of the day and the crew only took the one shot before it was time to pack it in.
I'm more concerned that this might happen again on a job with a lot of time on it.

Brian, I used all the options you mentioned.Tried them right of the bat and nothing,I named the job myself when I exported from MSCAD 2005 (this is standard procedure as I am the one who does all the comps and uploading).I double checked with the guy running the Tracker (he's actually pretty sharp w...

Brian,
All the jobs go into the User CF by default.I set it up that way so that any if problems that came up with the Tracker I could just remove the CF card and pop it into the computers card reader.
The job wasn't in main memory, believe me.Any other thoughts?

Lost job

Hi, Yesterday the field crew was doing a job when something odd happened. They took a shot in traverse mode to a point and the Tracker froze up (this has happened a few times before so that's not the odd part ).The instrument man did a reboot of the unit by holding down the on/off key for 10 seconds...

Image not appearing

Sounds like the plotter dosn't have enough memory to handle the image. Try this, see if your plotter software has an option to process the drawing in the computer. We use an HP 500 and the option is under the services tab --> trouble shoot with a check box for send job as bitmap (process in computer)....

2005 Help

Kevin,
I can't help you with the formatting part of your question but as to the first part, check your linetype scale. If that is set to low, picking on an object causes it to seem to be highlighted in black.

go to the windows folder and find the mscad2004.ini file. Open it up in Notepad or Wordpad and look for the line that starts New in FelixCAD 6.0 Change AutoNew=1 to AutoNew=0 and that eliminates the new drawing starting up when you start MSCAD. Be forewarned though, copy the original .ini file to a s...

Here's something to try,see if your plotter has a setting to process the image on the hard drive as opposed to using the plotters on board memory.
We had some trouble printing raster images, especially large .tiff files, and this solution solved the problem.

We are using a Tracker with Field Genius 1.0.9,and the temporary target height works o.k. Distance Units

Thanks,that worked!
I had downloaded the survey of our office from MSCAD to play around with outside with a gun,and noticed I couldn't change to US Survey feet.
For most of the jobs we do it wasn't that big a deal,I was just curious.
Thanks again

I'm writting this from home,so can't check it out until tommorow morning at work, but I seem to recall reading somewhere that the TDS won't recognize a coordinate file unless it has the extension .cr5
Try renaming the file to this and see if it works.
