Are plotter just died after 13 yrs. I sent my drawing to someone that had MScad2008 . They have a old HP. The drawing came back and some text was plotted too large and one line of text was smaller. In the past what you see is what you get from the plotter. We will have to get a new plotter. Ok here ...

Okay so basically what I need is 1 common files format that we can all use, from 2004- to 2008. Is that file format ACAD 2004 (I would assume the newest would work best). Or R14? I am still trying to sort out in my head all these data base issues. I know that when, in MS2005, you save a 2004DWG fil...

we seem to have trouble with all these formats. I have been opening up old FLX files, in 2004. Then saving as 2004 DWG 2005 seems to open these fine. 2008 gives a "can't find data base error" Kev. Will I was told 2008 reads database fine even though I had problems. in the past. Make sure you have t...

2008 Program can read 2005 drawing just fine.

Just write a AutoCAD14 version with the 2004 program
and the 2005 or the 2008 program can read them.

Now 2008 is not backward compatable. So if you
want everyone with the same drawings then update all your
licence to 2008.

Re: Move some files from 2005 to 2008?

What is the name and location of the file in ICAD 2005 that holds the customized tool bar configurations that I have created and can it be imported into 2008? Also, what is the name and location of the file that holds the MSCAD configurations that I have set in 2005 and can they be imported into 20...

A single USB key can be used for many different programs or versions of programs. So what you are suggesting is not correct. When 2009 (or whatever it is called) is released, those that already have a USB key, and have purchased the upgrade, will simply have to install and activate the new program ...

When the 2009 version is issued the 2008 will no longer work the moment you use the 2008 USB key to install the 2009 version is installed. We will lot of users shut down till the...

Richard, I didn't read your latest post before making my previous post. But I wanted to let you know that you wrote is correct. You are right on target. It is better to spend the extra money to keep a full license for older versions. MicroSurvey is changing there full Licence versions, so you might...

sorry, a bit off topic, but with regards to ms2005 and newer that work with DWG files. Is all the point number info in the DWG file now, .. or do you still need the "data base" (.msd?) file. Can I email a DWG file, and that has all the info for another person to do calcs in microsurvey? Thanks If y...

Richard - the database is perfectly fine and will not be lost at all. When you convert the FLX to DWG via any program, the database is not touched. When you then open this DWG file in Microsurvey CAD 2008, the database is automatically opened and converted to the new format. This is assuming that y...

MicroSurvey CAD 2004 will open any previous version of FLX file BUT MicroSurvey CAD 2002 will not open the FLX file from MicroSurvey CAD 2004. www.graebert.com has a new program that will open all FLX files and allow you to save them to DWG files. PowerCAD DWG Viewer 7 is a relatively cheap program...

I can't believe what I just read. MicroSurvey abandons FLX format, no longer support it. Then it wants all the users to spend time converting that format. Can't happen, we have thousands of drawing in FLX format. We only use it to convert when needed. I don't even have it on my computer now, but on ...

The problem with your scenario is if you have multiple users sharing one key: "Hey Joe, toss me the USB key so I can save my work." He plugs it back in, and saves his work. He then passes it to the next guy to save his work. Multiple people can be running the software at the same time while purchas...

Re: more on polyline crashes

2007/07/13 Whatman provided the answer as to why I couldn't forward a sample as when I went back into the drawing that was crashing it didn't crash because it had been saved. Just a quick note -- I went back into the same drawing, created a new regular polyline arc and a line to extend it to --- bi...

FYI - I just confirmed that the crash when extending the curvey leader, has been reported to IntelliCAD already. We do not have a fix for this as of today. I think the leader problem could have been fixed by using LWpolyline. Please pass this on to the programers as it turns out was over looked. P....

I have seen this problem. It doesn't do it every time, but it happens. Ok Use a CURVEY LEADER and extend it. This will Crash almost 99% time There is a work around. After you draw the curvey polyline save and exit . Now you can load drawing and extend the Curvey polyline. That is why no one can send...

"your system defaults" If you had typed the word "system" in the the Help Index It would have helped you. MicroSurvey uses the Word System as you would say Program. I think using word System is miss leading to new users. I think they should have have wrote "your program defaults" as a error meassage...
