I would like to add a couple things here. I too have been caught without font files specified in my Microsurvey system defaults and have had to continually hit o.k. over and over again while importing points until I get to the end of the ascii file. This takes forever on a large file which most of ...

This is a good point. When someone has a problem and finds a fix, it is helpful for them to post all of the details and keywords here for others to find when they do a search of the site for the same or similar problem. By the way, I found that when I uninstalled then downloaded and installed a fre...

The solution is a simple one. This HelpDesk Trouble Shooter topic discusses this in detail. http://www.microsurvey.com/helpdesk/index.php?_m=troubleshooter&_a=steps&troubleshootercatid=1&parenttroubleshooterid=547 Cheers, Just like to add the solution was simple to fix, but the help did not say why...

Re: COGO - 2 DRAWINGS OPEN

I'd suggest a message similar to copying points, copying between drawings etc for this. I see it 'as is' as quite useful but unless ther's a warning then one can get confused or misled. regards, Richard Hi Richard You never copy points, you transfer points. Points are in the database and to get the...

I am always leaving out something, so try again. The box is just a work place to put text in it and I have found that I have had no problems if I make it larger. Now I do one thing first before I make the box is that Pick my text height first. I make a box then I usely just hit Ctrl V to copy all th...

Re: editing multiline text

2007/05/25 I hope that you are or already have resolved the editing issues that arise inside mtext when you try to change text sizes. Its possible to get locked into a message that the text size is too small (or large??) and the message keeps coming up over and over and over again without allowing ...

Re: TOGGLE SNAPS

Gday Glen. Thats not really what I had in mind. My idea is for an 'on the fly' snap disabler such as hold Ctrl or Spacebar and it disables then release and it enables. Very useful for drawing info that generally requires a snap but then often there are times in the midst that I dont want any snap. ...

There is only two ways I know.

1. Bind Xref drawing.

2. Open Xref drawing in Second Window and list Layer.

Re: R6025 fatal Error?

Picking up a fatal R6025 -Pure Virtual Function Call Error when attempting to save a MSCAD 2004 .flx file to any type/version of .dwg file using the saveas pulldown menu command.... Seems to be problematic to this drawing as it errors out similarly on either of two different PC's running MSCAD2004....

I said I wasn't going to give a tip, but here it is anyway. 1. After you Draw your contours, push save and exit the drawing. There is too much for any computer to handle at this point. 2. Never use Italic Complex type on a drawing before you draw the contours. This has been a long standing Bug. Do ...

Re: CivilCAD and/versus MicrosurveyCAD

It appears as though I may be called upon to do some new work. I presently have the premium edition of MSCAD. The prospective client (a utility firm with a minimal technical staff) has indicated that I should be considering CivilCAD. I have tried to find some comparison articles on the Web, but to ...

I'm curious as to what others see the Modelling Tools for and how far they 'stretch' MSCAD in that area. I use it for far more than just producing contours and sending off a plan depicting how the terrain looks. Some Egs. Dam and building pad design, Comparing different surfaces, contouring the dif...

How often have other users had problems with MSCAD 2005 crashing for no apparent reason? This time it happened when I was in the active coordinate editor and did the Change Selection Layer command. Received a CAD error and when re-opening the drawing, everything I did from last save on was gone. Gl...

In our case, it is a drawing created and only manipulated with MicroSurvey. It hasn't been open with AutoCAD. However, I have had that problem he is describing also. In your case is this a MSCAD 2005 drawing or a drawing from a older version of MicroSuvey. Save all old Drawings to AutoCAD14 then op...

Ok there is something in that drawing that MSCAD2005 does not like. 1. Try this Delete All Hatching 2. Explode all Polylines and if it won't explode then delete them. If you have AutoCAD do it there. If AutoCAD won't delete it, then it is a Proxy graphics and that is your problem. You are now down t...

Try using the RECOVER program to open the drawing. This does fix many errors. If you see a number of Proxies when opening have them resend drawing wit no Proxies. It can be done. Its just a larger file. If you SAVEAS AutoCAD 12, then open it and SAVEAS AutoCAD 2004. Don't use the SAVE button, use it...

This can work for those that require this - BUT if you had a Traverse file in the original drawing/database, it would no longer be in the new MSD file that was created via this method.
