Autocad amendments

Post by rfinnie » Mon Apr 14, 2003 5:20 am

I saved a topo file in Autocad R2000 format and emailed it to an architect, so that they could do the design work for a house and barn. Apparently they are able to modify existing lines on the plan, but unable to draw new ones. Any suggestions?

Sounds like they do not know what they are doing! :)

Seriously - they either did not noticed the "OUT OF LIMITS" message in the command line or did not know what it meant. When you try and create anything outside the limits, the message is displayed.

To allow them to draw outside the limits you can simply turn them off. This can be done either prior to you saving the drawing or after they open the drawing in AutoCAD.

Type in the following:
LIMITS <then press enter>
OFF <then press enter>

Limits are used in AutoCAD for more things than what we use them for in MSCAD.
