Print part of point list?

Post by DKNTEC » Mon Jul 16, 2007 2:39 pm

Is there a quick & easy way to print and/or copy out to file just part of a point set in full 8 decimal places?
Seems I've overlooked or missed the simple way?

I know I could select the points in ACE, go Ctrl-C to copy, then Ctrl-V to paste into a Word doc or spreadsheet, & then print that, but that will only show the max 6 decimal places allowed in ACE. Occasionally I want to see all 8 for record purposes.

I know I could also list the points desired (with units set to max 8 dp), which shows them on Prompt History screen, select those, right click, choose Copy Selected text, paste that into a Word doc or spreadsheet. But this brings along a N:,E:,El:,D: preceeding each number on every line. Yes, I can strip these out, but this is getting convoluted.....

Try typing ascii_out.
You then have the choice of how many decimal places, what order of attributes. This should give you the output in a quick and simple form.
In the Help its uner 'ASCII Export, Points'.
