Changing Microsurvey defaults

Post by mfranz » Wed Nov 13, 2002 7:25 am

Is there a way to change the defaults in "autoroute/design alignment", such that the grid color and fonts would not have to be manually changed after each new POT route generation?

Also, is there a way to change the Microsurvey "Standard" font defaults?

Thanks again.

AutoRoute Defaults

Post by Glen Cameron » Wed Nov 13, 2002 8:00 am

The default settings in AutoRoute are not accessable to you at present time. The layer settings used are hard coded. This includes the Standard Font. This may change in future versions. Most of the layer names are related to the name of the alignment along with a default name merged with it (example: PINE_POT where PINE is the name of the alignment). Otheres are just used based upon what is hard coded in the program.

If you were to have a template drawing setup with your layers all set as you desired, then when the program goes to use a layer it will use your default layer rather than making it. This would allow you to control the way the layers are setup. Assuming that you are consistant with your alignment naming, you could create many layers in the template drawing to control the entire process.

A Template drawing is used when you first start a new job from the project manager. (details in the help file on this). A Template drawing can be generated like any other drawing - just don't draw anything on the layers after you have created them. Once you have the drawing at the stage you wish to use it as a Template from - save it to the hard drive and setup the project manager to use it for all new jobs that require it.
