Reading PDF files in CAD

This is a new one for me, as we typically get or generate DWG files.

Can MicroSurvey's CAD read & use PDFs? I presume the info, if it can be read, is "dumb"---?

Hi, Yes you can attach a PDF file into a drawing as an OLE Object by going to Draw | Object, or by typing INSERTOBJ. Just select the "Create from File" option, and then browse to your PDF file. Once inserted, you can do some minor editing such as moving it, using the grips to resize it, and changing its Draworder, but little else - it is just a graphical overlay similar to a raster image. You will probably find that you will need to manually force the screen to update using the REDRAW or REGEN commands while you are trying to manipulate an ole object.
