quick posts

do i need an actual survey point to place a quick post symbol? i working in a drawing with out any points & want to place symbols at the the end points

You can arbitrarily place symbols anywhere in the drawing using the Symbol Library command. The "Quick Post" symbols can be found under Feet>Posts or Metric>Posts. Type INSYM at the command line or select the Symbol Librarian from the MsAnnotate tab/menu.

(The Quick Posts command, on the other hand, uses the mscad.csv AutoMAP Library to place the posts by embedding a code into the point's description.)
