The %%C is a useful tool as is %%P, %%U and the ~ for the degree symbol. However, reciently my %%C has gone on holiday! Everything else is functional. Any suggestions for recovering it?

Also, when a drawing closes the message "unable to find drawingname in fdt_flxnames" appears. This is not as bad as it sounds, I am certain of its location and status, but am curious about the message.

Happy Holiday,

Not all fonts support the %% characters. You may be using a different font than you had been before, and the new font may not support it.
You may be using the same font but the actual file on the hard drive may not be the same as it may have been replaced with a different copy. Check the SHX file on the hard drive and see if you can determin if it is the original or a different copy.

The Raster portion of the program is what is reporting this message.
If you insert a raster into a drawing - then save the drawing immediately - you are told it saved the raster just fine - but it you save again, anytime later, then you get the message you mentioned. As long as it did save the first time correctly, this message means nothing. If you then close this job ad open another, the error message will continue until you exit the program and restart again.

If you do not have the raster save correctly for you the first time, then when you reopen the job later and reinitialize the raster system, the raster will not reappear and will need to be reinserted.
