Is it possible to construct a 2D poly line by entering point numbers? Or is this only possible by clicking points on screen, or by entering coordinates

We do not have a direct routine that allows this but you can create a polyline using AutoMAP and it's line creation option. It can be either 2D or 3D and joins points together based upon a common description, in increasing point number order. You can also convert a Line to a Polyline by running the PEDIT command and then join other segments by windowing or picking them.

> pedit
Select a 2D polyline:
Transform line to polyline ? y
Select option: j
Select entity (line, arc, 2D polyline):

Select entity (line, arc, 2D polyline):
*** 10 selected. ***
10 vertices added to polyline!
