Multi-Set Averaging

Post by DaveS » Tue Apr 04, 2006 9:40 am

We've just started using FG2005 and were going over the data from the multiset routine. When I caculate what the reduced turned angle should be, FG is calculating a different angle. Granted we are talking about seconds but if you are letting the computer calculate, why not have it do it right....

An example from our data is
RB 0-00-00
RB 179-59-48
RF 195-08-34
RF 15-08-38
(I've omitted the rest of the angles and distances)

FG calculates AR=195-08-36... The average of the 2 forward sights.

I calculate AR=195-08-42

Is there a setting that I've missed or is the computer assuming it has a perfect instrument?

Hi Dave,

You have to take into account the backsight readings.
