Converting a Carlson drawing with points

Post by surveysc » Fri Dec 19, 2008 8:27 am

What are the steps required to convert the points in a Carlson 2009 Embedded Autocad or even SoftDesk 147.0 to usable points in MicroSurvey?

If the Carlson points are Point blocks with attributes, you can go to our MsPoints menu | Other Program Ties | Carlson |Import Carlson Points. Confirm the blcok and attribute names, then select the points to convert and follow the rest of the prompts. The help in the program may also help explain the steps for you.

We can import other point blocks with attributes from other similar programs like EaglePoint and Softdesk. You just have to ensure the attributes all match.

As you can see on this emnu we can read in many other data types from many other programs as well.

The routines will build our database up with the same point data and draw duplicate points into the drawing on the layers set as per our Labeling Defaults under the MsAnotate menu. Optionally in some routines, you can delete the orignal point blocks - or say no and simply freeze the layers they use.
