Points number

Post by mmpoirier » Thu Jun 21, 2012 5:32 am

I have a problem with a drawing of topography that I did. I took the GPS data points to my drawing. When I incorporated them into MicroSurvey Cad, the numbers of the points were attached to the points. I've never been able to clear them. How can I do this without removing the point? thank you.

Hi, It sounds like you are probably seeing what we call "Independent Point Numbers". These are not text entities, but more like tooltips showing the point ID. (The advantage of the IPN labels is that as you zoom in closely to the point, text entities will get bigger and perhaps even go offscreen, while the IPNs always stay the same size on the screen.) You can turn them on/off by either...
1) type IPN at the command line
2) in the menus, go to MsPoints | Independent Point Numbers | Independent Point Numbers (IPN)
3) or my favorite: turn on the "MS IPN" toolbar (right-click over any toolbars already visible, or type TBCONFIG) and use the green (N) button.
Similarly - IPD is for Descriptions, and IPE is for Elevations.
