MsCad and recreating old jobs - Big Plus

Post by Richard Sands » Wed Dec 03, 2014 2:05 pm

I was extremely impressed with MsCad the other day.
10 years ago I surveyed a length of river and made many sections and other usual modelling.

Now the Government want a resurvey to see what changes have taken place.

Only problem was the only records that survived a computer crash years ago were some paper printouts of the plan and the raw data file.
I had sent a dwg to those involved at the time but they had misplaced it.

But then they found it and sent the dwg back.
Wondering now what and how I was going to reinvent all this easily I did an Audit on the dwg as it loaded and it recreated the points with all descriptions and linework attached. Wow!!

Heads up and thanks to Microsurvey for the way this works.

Hi Richard,

Thank you for kind words. We put a lot of work into making sure that old data is usable in newer versions of our products. It's nice to hear a story where someone was able to save hours of work because of the software package they use.
