Protected points list

Post by Glen A. Quarmby » Tue Sep 23, 2003 10:00 am

There seems to be a problem with the Protected Points List command.
Several times I have started a new drawing and somewhere along the way some points get flagged as protected. I don't notice until they get left behind in a shift or rotate.
Changing the protected status from within the ACE doesn't seem to work either.

The Point Protecting Works in the menu part of the program.

You are right that from the Active database it does not work right.

I have pass on my finding to Microsurvey some time ago.

Just use the program from the menu.

You can view what is protected from the active Database, but don't trust it.

Just go to Point Protecting and use the Remove All button. That works

Hi Glen,

We're having a hard time narrowing down this bug. Richard is correct that if you use it from Coordinate Point Utilities it works everytime.

If possible, send me an email with any hints you may have as to when you experienced the problem. This will help us fix it.

Look at the ON an OFF POINT PROTECTION in the active database button.

That all that is broken. It will turn ON but not OFF.

There is another way to turn off the point protection in the Active Database.

Turn on SHOW Protection. From here you can turn points ON and OFF.

No problem.

The problem I am having is more than what Richard describes. Although I agree with him about the ACE point protection I have also noticed on numerous occasions that some points end up in the Point Protection list when I never put them there. So far I have not been able to duplicate the event. If I figure out the cause I will let you know but I am not optimistic on solving this one.
