Sometimes when I am in a FLX dwg, after I insert an autocad dwg my computer will freeze up on the zoom command. Any opinions on this subject? purging does not seem to help

I have found that you should open the AutoCAD file first. Save it to flx first
before inserting it into your flx drawing.

There may be something in the Autocad drawing that the flx drawing can't
figure out.

I believe and I maybe wrong that MSCAD can work in one or the other
formats, but not both at the same time.

Is the AutoCAD DWG file still a part in the FLX file or have you exploded it to work on it? Does the DWG file have any Xref's? Is the DWG in Paper Space? What version of AutoCAD did it originate in? Did the DWG have any Proxy's? Also - what system are you running? How much RAM do you have? How big are the files in question? What version of Windows are you running (this can be critical in some cases on some computers).

As you can see, there are many different questions that can be asked about the DWG to start with, and your whole system as well.

If you would like to email me a copy to test here, I would be happy to do so. Just document all the steps you do to be able to see the freeze up you have described.
